I have never colored my hair. Where do I start?
Start small. A partial highlight shows you how brightness looks on you without changing your whole head. We place fine pieces where light lands first (around your face, along your part, through the crown) and leave the rest of your shade alone. If you love it, you can add more next time. If it is not for you, it grows out quietly.
Your stylist may use foils, balayage or babylights for a first partial, choosing whatever gives the softest result on your texture.
Tell us anything you know about your hair history, even a single box color from years ago, because old color changes how hair lifts. A couple of photos of highlights you like help too, along with one or two you know you would not want.
Will first highlights look obvious?
Not when they are placed with a light hand.
