Frequently asked questions
Can I get vivid color on dark hair?
Usually, yes, but dark hair needs to be lightened first so the bright shade can show. How much lifting it takes depends on your natural color and any past color. Your stylist will tell you at the consultation if your goal needs more than one session.
Why do I have to text to book a vivid?
Vivid appointments vary a lot depending on your starting point and goals. Texting lets the team ask a few questions, see your photos and reserve the right amount of time with Andrea or Demie, so your plan never gets cut short.
How long will my vivid color stay bright?
Bright pigments fade quicker than natural tones, and the pace depends on how often you wash, water temperature, heat styling and sun. Cool water, a color protecting shampoo and fewer washes make a real difference. Your stylist will suggest a refresh plan.
Will lightening for vivids damage my hair?
Any lightening asks something of your hair, which is why your stylist starts with a careful consultation and a custom plan. Bond building care, patient lifting and good home care help keep hair strong. Fragile hair may call for a slower plan or softer placement.
What if I want to go back to a natural color later?
Removing or covering vivid color is its own process and falls under color correction at Elevate. Some shades fade out more easily than others, so mention any future plans at your consultation and your stylist can choose shades with that step in mind.
