Frequently asked questions
Can people tell I am wearing a halo?
Not when it is fitted and blended well. The wire sits hidden under your own hair at the crown, and your stylist cuts and shapes the halo into your hair so the ends match. Choosing the right shade, or a balayage shaded piece, keeps it looking natural up close.
Is a halo a good choice for fine or thinning hair?
Often, yes. Nothing is attached to your hair, so there is no weight pulling on your roots between visits, and you can take it off whenever you like. You do need enough hair at the crown to cover the wire, which your stylist checks at your consultation.
Original Halo or Layered Halo: which should I choose?
The Original Halo adds moderate length to your current hair and suits guests who want a natural boost. The Layered Halo is built for maximum length and volume, for a bigger change. Your stylist can compare both on you at the consultation and talk through your color options.
Can I sleep, swim or work out in my halo?
A halo is meant to come off before bed, and it is easiest to care for when you take it off for swimming and workouts too. Taking it off for anything wet or sweaty keeps the hair fresh, smooth and looking good for longer.
How is a halo different from hand tied extensions?
Hand tied extensions are sewn into rows on your natural hair and need regular reinstalls. A halo is a removable piece with no attachment and no maintenance visits. Hand tied suits guests who want extensions every day, and a halo suits guests who want flexibility.
